Five Apps to Help You Stay Sober During Recovery from Addiction

Along with taking these steps we have rounded up five smartphone applications that were made to help you stay sober on a daily basis!

Read more about these sobriety apps that anyone with a smartphone or tablet can use during their recovery journey!

Sobriety App #1 – I Am Sober App

The I Am Sober App is an ad-free motivational companion app that tracks your sobriety through providing you with visual representation of your milestones, how much money has been saved over the duration of your recovery and more. In addition to those features, the app will also remind users to commit to staying sober through daily pledges. Users can also document the activities they do throughout the day, which will help to shine a light on any possible triggers.

The I Am Sober App helps anyone struggling with an addiction to:

  • Alcohol
  • Cocaine
  • Heroin
  • Marijuana
  • Meth

Sobriety App #2 – Sober Grid

Sober Grid is an app that acts just like Facebook by connecting individuals in who are in the recovery process. The app’s features include a “Burning Desire” button, which will notify someone in a support group when the individual in recovery is facing temptation and may need help as soon as possible. This app also has a GPS locator that can connect those using the app. Available for both iTunes and Google Play, here are the links to download.

Sobriety App #4 – Nomo Sobriety Clocks

Nomo-Sobriety Clocks was created by two real people during their recovery journey. These individuals wanted to make an app that tracks the number of days an individual has been sober and how much time and money has been saved.

In addition to that, patients can share these milestones on Twitter and Facebook with others who are close to them. The app also provides access to an exercise guide which helps refocus the individual in recovery when he or she is feeling tempted to use. To learn more about the features offered with this app, we have included the link to download the app from the iTunes and Google Play stores.

Sobriety App #5 – recoveryBox

Focusing on figuring out why we develop bad habits and developing a plan to break the bad habits, recoveryBox will help you track any unhealthy behaviors and give you the tools to fight them. Learn the “lights” (based on green, yellow, and red accomplishment lights) that are designed to help encourage you each day and trigger what behavior causes a relapse.

This app helps to combat any addiction from drugs and alcohol to gambling and pornography, but is sadly only available for iPhone or iPad users.
